Alan Goode conducts a 3-year training course for teachers of Iyengar Yoga devised around “practice based learning” (Tapas), which requires dedication to practice and self study (Svadhyaya). Course work is undertaken through Alan’s School Yoga Mandir in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory.

The aim of training is to provide an opportunity to deepen one’s yogic experience, and to develop a balance between professional teaching techniques and the hands-on skills gained through direct experience. Please check the BKS Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia website at www.iyengaryoga.asn.au to view details on certification and training requirements and to download a copy of the teacher assessment handbook. All trainees must maintain membership of the BKS Iyengar Yoga Association as this is a requirement to sit certification and provides access to the most up to date information about certification guidelines.
